ORGANIC RANKINE CYCLE SYSTEMS

As alternative to WHR, in this system thermal oil with high heat transfer factor is used to generate electricity in high efficiency levels by means of convection. This system, which is applicable in all plants continuously emitting waste heat, has been preferred even for lower temperatures.

Working principle of organic rankine cycle (ORC) systems are very similar to traditional rankine systems. The greatest advantage of ORC is to transfer the regenerated heat for thermal cycle by an organic fluid. The system enables a power generation within a wide range from 200 kW up to 15 MW depending on the amount of waste heat.

Advantages:

-Less wear in metallic parts and turbine blades due to lower rotational speed of turbine occurs compared to traditional systems.

-The lifetime of the existing equipment are extended as the system is able to be operated in lower pressures.

-The application is environmental friendly.

-No need to use superheated steam.

Sectors where the system is used most frequently;

- Cement

- Iron-Steel

- Glass manufacturing

- Refineries

 Our solution partner for this system, which was invented in Europe, is the Italian manufacturer Turboden.
